Yamaha PSR-EW300

An extended 76-note keyboard, brimming with sounds, styles and musical creativity, Yamaha's PSREW300 is a touch-senitive and USB compatible model, suited to a wide range of player abilities, from beginners through to some pianists and music composers!

Ideal as a 'standalone' model or for use with music software programs such as Cubase, Sibelius, Logic and Garageband, the PSREW300 is a 'progressive' educational keyboard with an extended range of sounds (574 of them), as well as additional rhythmic accompaniment styles now totalling 165, a new arpeggiator function and registration memories (as required by some examination boards).

Supplied with a mains adaptor, the PSREW300 provides composers with a 5-song recorder (2-tracks) song recorder, and important educational features such as registration memories (x9), and split / layer features are standard issue on an instrument of this 'progressive' level.

The PSR-EW300 employs a staggering variety of onboard voices (574 to be precise), from orchestral sounds, through to synths, guitars, brass, woodwind and drums, whilst the rhythm accompaniments include traditional styles, mixed with modern day dance types and even ethnic styles.

The PSREW300 is now finished in black, and adopts a sleek chassis whilst sporting small bass boost ports to project a richer bass output, whilst an LCD display sits in the middle and helps with navigation of the sounds, digital effects, 165 world rhythm styles, split/layer and harmony effects (no DSP on this model however).

The keyboards 'action' feels firm and is touch-sensitive to allow students to play with a level of expression (similar to a piano) and, for those who wish to use this model with Cubase, Sibelius, Garage Band etc, the PSREW300 works brilliantly (PC and Mac drivers available to download). It's easy to use at beginner level too and, as with all Yamaha keyboards, navigation is very logical

The PSR-EW300 supports streaming audio from an i-Pod via a minijack socket on the rear panel, allowing the user to play their favourite tracks through the 2.5w speakers.

No synthesizer function here and no 'line outputs' on this model for connecting to a dedicated extrenal PA system (Yamaha's higher spec PSREW410 employs both features), but the PSREW300 does boast a USB TO HOST terminal, which allows you to connect to a computer or portable device and record high-quality audio without the need for an additional interface - BRILLIANT!
