A 32-note melodica, supplied with mouth-piece, flexible tube and soft case, the Melodica (Pianica as it is sometimes known), is a wind instrument that works in a similar way to a harmonica.
The instrument has a piano keyboard on top and when you blow through the Melodica and press the piano keys, air is allowed to flow through holes and over fitted reeds - it is this which produces the sound.
They are particularly popular in education as they are small, lightweight, good value for money and very easy to play especially for those who have a working knowledge of the piano.
