We Think

Kawai mid point digital model with samples from the flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand, Grand Feel Compact wooden keys and advanced 4-speaker system. The CA59 offers an enhanced feature set over the entry level CA-49 including Bluetooth audio streaming, and a USB audio record and playback facility.

Combining the latest Grand Feel Compact wooden-key keyboard action and stunning SK-EX, SK-5, and EX grand piano sounds, with powerful 4 speaker output, convenient USB audio features, Bluetooth MIDI and Audio connectivity, and a strong selection of sounds, the CA59 delivers best-in-class touch, tone, and features at an outstanding price!

All 88 black and white keys are crafted entirely from long pieces of wood, with finely textured Ivory Touch key surfaces applied to assist playing control. As with an acoustic grand piano action, the keys rest on a metal balance pin and move with a smooth seesaw-like motion, while the extended pivot length ensures a consistent, evenly-balanced touch weight – even when playing towards the back of the key.

The Grand Feel Compact action also incorporates grade-weighted hammers, bass region counterweights, and let-off simulation for added authenticity, while its accurate triple-sensor key detection system allows rapidly repeated notes such as trills to be performed smoothly, without unnatural breaks in sound.

The CA59 digital piano's primary piano sound comes from Kawai’s flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, along with the sound of the highly acclaimed EX concert grand piano. Both pianos have been meticulously sampled and faithfully reproduced using Harmonic Imaging sound technology. This unique process accurately recreates the broad dynamic range of the original grand pianos, affording pianists an extraordinary level of expressiveness ranging from the softest pianissimo to the strongest, boldest fortissimo.

Virtual Technician digitally simulates the subtleties of the acoustic piano sound, allowing performers to shape various aspects of the piano’s tonal character and playability to suit their unique personal preferences, before storing favourite setups to memory for immediate recall.

The CA59 has a superb 4-way system (50w stereo with line outputs to connect to a PA system in a school hall if necessary), with ONKYO designed audio circuits to reproduce the harmonic spectrum of an acoustic piano. Lower range frequencies are delivered through the underside of the instrument, while mid and high frequencies are projected outward via top-mounted speakers, closely mirroring the sound projection of a grand piano.

The CA-59's ‘USB to Device’ feature allows instrument settings or recorded songs stored in internal memory to be saved to USB for posterity, or standard MIDI files (SMF) downloaded from the internet to be conveniently played back without additional hardware. USB memory devices can also be used to play back MP3 or WAV audio files, allowing musicians to learn the chords or melody for a new piece, or to simply play along with their favourite songs. It is even possible to record performances as MP3 or WAV files for emailing to friends and family, listening to on the move, or for further editing using an audio workstation.

A wonderful piano playing experience, with elegant looks!

Available in rosewood, satin black or satin white finishes as shown above (please specify colour choice when ordering), and note that a piano stool is NOT included (examples shown below).
